Hi all, I'm new to the board and have a question. I got my old OA116 speakes out of storage thinking I would like to use them again. Of course the surrounds are gone. After dissassembling I found one of the bass elements is 8 Ohms. I bought these in the late 70's they were the display at a local stereo shop. As far as I know this is how they were manufactured. Was this a mistake or was the crossover somehow modified to acount for this? Any ideas on how to proceed? Should I refoam the edges and reasemble, or replace with a 5.3ohm element? I'm in the USA, any Ideas on where to get parts?
thanks for the help,
Bob

Re: OA116 8ohm driver
Hi Bob,
This is strange, I've never heard of OA116:s with 8 Ohm bass elements. Sorry to say, you can't buy any replacements, they are not manufactured anynmore. But you can try to advertise for old ones on this site.
I think refoaming is the best solution.
Best regards,
Lars
