Bass units for OA-14

Post by Frank »

Read Martin Dellstig's excellent translation on the OA-14.
I would be very happy if someone you could help me with the following:

1. I am trying to get the two AO-14 I own to work again. But I need to replace the bass units (cone completely "gone"). Apparently, the Peerless SC165 is not made any more. Does someone know a good (good quality) replacement for this?

2. I do not have a handbook, but I noticed a movable jumper on the top of the box. What is that for?

The jumper is there to adjust the frequency response of the tweeters. There should be a dot in one of the positions, which was tested as the best. OA14 was sold in matched pairs from this aspect and thus usually both speakers have this dot in the same position.

When updated to CT62 these jumpers are usually bypassed and kept just för "cosmetical" reasons.

Thanks for this quick response.
The dot is indeed there.
