hi all, just wanting any thoughts on the scanspeak p17wj00 6.5inch as a substitute woofer for the sonab oa-12? anyone tried it with success? feedback welcome! Thanks in advance

So I opened up my sonab oa12 the woofers appear to be Vifa p17wj00 and fit perfectly...I think they sound great the bass is tight mid range is nice crossovers are refurbed so on the surface this appears another good substitute for this model when you cannot find the original peerless woofers.

I haven't tried them but having a quick look att the thiele-small parameters I notice there are some, but not severe differences, the higher Vas is probably on the good side for oa-14.
The frequency response seem to be more than acceptable in all angles.
I think they could be something measuring and listening to for the expertise.

They sound good to me i looked at the crossovers tonight and I think one of the coils was changed to support this woofer change normally the coils in sonabs are red one is changed to an orange gold colour which I haven't seen before in Sonab there's no markings to denote the mh rating. Looks like the previous person knew what they were doing when changing the woofer over
