Restoring OD11 with CT62 vs T22

Post by westwind »

I just acquired a pair of rosewood OD11's. I have a pair of Peerless CT-62's and I'm wondering the following:

1: If I use them in the OD11, do I need to change the filter? If so, does anyone have a schematic for it? I haven't been able to find anything out about it. They appear to be a direct replacement in the restoration section of this site.

2: Am I better off using the T22 vs the CT 62? (I know I need to change the filter if I do.)

Thanks for your help,
Syd

You can use them without changing the filter, but you will get a dip in the lower mid register. CT 62 is not an element that goes well with Carlsson speakers. Some people think they sound much better than the original tweeter, but measurement tells another story. The only thing to do, I reckon, is to use the T 22 with a new filter. They are sturdy and will hopefully work for a long time (i´ve had problems with three original tweeters in OD 11´s). Read at Carlssonkult.se and let Google translate.
