Hej!
Hello!
I'm an American with a Swedish 'sambo' and we live in the Washington, DC area. We holiday every summer in Skåne. Her brother gave us some Carlsson speakers he bought around 1969-1970 via sambons employee discount(she worked at Sonab). Stig took her to lunch once which was supposedly rare given his, uh, 'sparsam' ways.
I haven't unboxed them yet so I don't know the model or condition(I won't be able to see them till July, 2016). I have never rebuilt any speakers so I am a novice, at best.
I would appreciate any advice especially as to where I could take the speakers for assessment and cost estimate for a rebuilding, m.m.
MVH,
Dave

Re: Not sure if I'm in the right column
Hej or Hallo
Why not send a mail to her brother and ask what kind of speaker it is. OD 11, OA 12, OA 14, OA 116, OA 2212, OA 6 II or OA 5 (two models)? They are quite easy to renovate. You can get hold of most of the parts you need.

Re: Not sure if I'm in the right column
Sorry. Forgot. V 1. This is not a good speaker though.
Re: Not sure if I'm in the right column
And OA 4 and OA 4 II. Not so good either.
Re: Not sure if I'm in the right column
Probably an OA-5 speaker.
He bought them 1969-70,so I guess it is an OA-5.

Thanks momus & Russ,
Her brother passed away 2 years ago. He had them stored in boxes ever since I met him in 1997, up in the loft of the barn on the family farm. Now that he's gone the farm's been sold and now the boxes are in the basement of our villa in Osby. I haven't opened them yet; didn't know about the Carlsson reputation until recently.
I've showed pictures of likely models to my 'sambo' but she can't recall the model number nor the year purchased. OA-5 or 0A-6 I am guessing.
I guess I won't know till July when we arrive for holiday.
Cheers!

Osby is a nice place to live in.
I live there myself!
The world is not so big any longer.

En riktig 'liten värld' historia!
Well, if you want you are welcome to stop by our house next July and we can check out the Carlssons. I would appreciate an aficionado's advice/opinion.
Tack!
