Given their age I'd recap the crossovers takes only an hour to do both and pretty inexpensive exercise. I'd also check the jumpers to ensure the contacts are clean and making good contact also while you are removing the crossover check that the woofer is in fact an original sc-165 many peerless woofers look like the original but are in fact later models with very different sound characteristics good luck!

No worries also can you take a photo of your crossovers? I just discovered there are two crossover designs for the sonab oa -12 and I own a pair with the earlier design maybe you have this version also? Check my thread about it - the early version seems more primitive than the common one we all know. Hope that helps!

Haven't opened them yet. I'll photograph if I do. Just out of curiosity - related question - I wonder if there is an archive in existence of serial numbers and dates of manufacture? That would be a cool resource. But I imagine all that has been lost.
