OA-40CS is a brand new Carlsson design for home cinema use. It is designed to work both as a surround- and a centre speaker.
The design is not yet totally completed but was in November named OA-40CS by the Stig Carlsson Trust. The letters CS stands for Centre Surround, not Carlsson Stig.
CARLSSON HOME CINEMA
This two way marks the beginning of a new era, the newly designed Ortho Acoustic home cinema!
Even today lots of people use their Carlsson speakers in home cinema applications. Many of us have discovered how incredibly good our old (or new) Carlsson speakers works out here. This is due to the big stereo image, transition response, good interaction with the listening room and the realistic sound.
BOTH CENTER AND SURROUND
The OA-40CS solves all problems with finding the right speakers to go with your Carlsson Front speakers. As a centre speaker the other models have the disadvantage of not playing straight towards the listener. All the models from the seventies and onwards are made as left/right speakers. People have had to live with either turning the speaker 45 degrees or playing without centre speaker using a “phantom projection” from the two frontspeakers This is solved by using the OA-40CS.
As a Surround speaker the OA-40CS also works fine, it can be placed on the floor or wall hanging whatever suits your needs.
FITS ALL CARLSSON SPEKAERS
The speaker is designed according to the Ortho-Acoustical principles so it harmonises with the all the other Carlssonspeakers. The speaker is of course magnetically shielded.
By the way Stig Carlsson designed one of the first surround speakers ever. Take a look at OA-1 from the fifties.

LOOK OUT!
We at CarlssonPlanet urge you to look out for the new OA-40CS. The official release date is not set yet but check out our newsletters (Swedish only) and the site, we will inform you as soon as the release date is set. The pictures published are from an early raw prototype without filters or anything but it should give a hint about what is coming.
TECHNICAL DATA
The OA-40CS is equipped with the new Carlssonbasselement B65-oa-CRT. This is the magnetically shielded version of the 6.5” Peerless woofer.
The tweeter is the new Carlsson T-11oa.
Absorbent panels are placed on both sides of the speaker.
It is a closed box design.
